well, when i get sleepy while i study, i usually go to sleep. hahahahaha! thats just me!
but here are something i tried before, they worked for me. i would suggest you to take a nap in the afternoon(that helps a little bit) and when you feel sleepy while studying, go for a walk outside, stretch a little bit, jump a little bit, and go back in the house and drink some water, or even better, wash your face in cold water. that helps, too. and i even tried to slap myself a couple times, but that wont last long. so im not suggesting that. well, the best way is to get up and do something.
oh something reminds me too, get a brighter light bulb, that will keeps you awake, too.
hope this helps!

Hey, Im awake all the time at night. For example it is 7:30 am and I still havent slept or am sleepy. The thing you need to do is sleep when you take ur breaks from studying. I usually nap around 11 am to 1 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm. Which gives me a total of 4 hrs of sleep.By having those naps I am able to keep up. I tried the whole coffee and drinking green tea stuff, but seriously those things make you so tired after the high for half an hour or so. I rather you just eat a good meal before you start studying and dont eat while studying because when you eat while studying, you tend to feel sleepy afterwards. Lastly try studying with other people, in that way you are motivated to stay up to do work. And if all fails, if safe go out for a walk at night, the fresh air usually works. GOOD LUCK.

Hey.. The best way to study is to do the homework every time you get it assigned.. There are some great textbooks that offer step-by-step solutions to problem solving in calculus or in other mathematics courses or in sciences or in engineering, but if you need to write an exam to get your license for being a professional... then ask your course instructors to recommend guidebooks with computer assisted DVDs or CDs to show you the critical thinking needed to do analysis or to work out your types of course work.. doing course assignments neatly in the style the instructors expect can count for upto 40 percent of your final grade and your final exam might only be worth 25 to 30 percent of your final grade... doing course notes might mean relying on other students in your classes to photocopy the notes for days that you were absent or when you had trouble getting notes completed from the class instruction... good luck... try only to drink a little coffee... cola and other soft drinks contain more caffeine than coffee or tea... four cups of coffee or five cups of tea daily... coffee and tea and pop after 2pm will affect your sleep... cramming just before the exam is counter-intuitive and you will gain little or nothing by it... Please tell us how the exam and your final grades result and what you did?

Why is this in singles and dating?

Well, I like to drink tea.

A lot of people consume caffeinated goods like coffee and energy drinks. I think chocolate has some too.

Others include sucking on ice cubes, pinching, study with a friend and pinch each other or put ice cubes down each others shirts when the other starts looking drowsy, etc.

Also, environment is important.
=Turn off distractions like this computer (I'm guilty, I should be sleeping and have morning class in 2 hrs)
=Sit properly
=Adjust temperature for comfort, not too cold or hot
=walk around a bit
=Switch subjects if losing interest
=sit in an uncomfortable chair (I always use plastic office/folding chairs for my work desk)
=Snacks?
=Read aloud
=Lastly, I hear if you don't have time, look at the pictures in the book at the very least, understand diagrams and what not.

Good luck, comrade in academics!

i have had teh same problem i just cldn't study in night used to get too sleepy and after 12 it was impossible to be awake ...i won't suggest u to stay awake at night coz even if u do u will be dizy and won't be able to concentrate on your studies and in the end will be frustrated so i would suggest u take proper sleep coz that will leave u fresh when u wake up and then concentrate on your studies don't force your self to do something coz it will have no result try waking up early in morning and studying in day time...all the best
