Good question. Someone like Reid who sends his message that the war is lost is a really great morale booster for our troops. Some of them seem to ONLY want failure, they are only worried about their party, at the expense of everything else. Scarier is that there are people who support them.

First, they are trying to provide funding for the troops. But then they need to promote the work being done by Iraq Vets against the war. This group has several Vets from OIF and OEF that are against the war, and have videos of these vets telling why the war is unwinnable. One vet's statement tells of how they were under fire from the regular civilians in the area, making it impossible to tell who the real terrorists were, and who just hated us being there and disrupting their lives. They need to make these vet's voices heard, because not enough people know how the vets feel. They are proud to serve their country, and will go back when told to because that is in their contract, but they are not a "volunteer" military when they can't oppose an illegal war.

Easy, just put a deadline for troop withdrawal.
How can any army fight an enemy when the enemy KNOWS when they will leave?
This is just saying you have already won. They can do one of two things, they can try and make you withdraw earlier by doing exactly what is happening in Iraq or they can sit back and wait till you withdraw.
The first is the better option because the Iraqi military wouls not be able to defend against the insurgents now while having a better chance at a later time due to better training and establishing tactics that work.

We have already lost this war, we are just in the retreating stages although we don't know it yet.
The Iranians do though.

Because us even being in Iraq is a failure. American troops really don't have a chance to clean that up, everything way too deep. We have to pull out and let them sort themselves out. We aren't the international police you know.
