this all depends on the traffic you have walking around your carpets. Do you have an excessively hairy, sheddy animal? If that is the case, you might have to hoover it more than twice a day. If you have mud being tracked in, or outside stuff that gets stuck to your shoes, like dead leaf segments, dried mud. If you have a husband or kids, then no, two times a day is hardly excessive. If you are just a clean freak and don't want any tiny thing on your carpeting, then you have to limit this sort of cleaning to once a day at most.

twice a day does sound excessive yes, I have a golden retriever who leaves hair everywhere and i only hoover once a day, eventhough 10 minutes after doing it it looks like i haven't bothered! lol

if you have little ones in your house, then twice a day is not excessive
if it's just one or two people in the house, then twice a day is very excessive
it just depends on your needs. pets, dusty roads, kids... all contribute to more frequently hoovering.

Yes, get a life, and I don't mean that rude, but there so many things to do in life and wonderful people to spend it with. I like a clean house but it doesn't run my life.
