4(2x-3) = 3x + 13
1) Do the distributive multiplication of the right side
8x - 12 = 3x + 13
2)Transfer the whole number in the right side to the left side by adding its inverse to both sides
8x - 12 + 12 = 3x + 13 + 12
8x = 3x + 25
3) Transfer the number with coefficient in the left side to the right side by adding its inverse
8x - 3x = 3x - 3x + 25
5x = 25
Divide both sides by 5
5x/5 = 25/5
x = 5 ====> the answer
NOTE:
1) Steps 2 and 3 can be done simultaneously or at the same time
2) What you do in the right side must also be done in the left side to maintain the equality of the equation
3) It is assumed that you know the four basic arithmetic operations (Addition, Subtarction, Mulitplication and Division)

your equation was :
4(2x-3)=3x+13
first of all multiply 2x and -3 by 4 it becomes
8x-12=3x+13
now , shift 3x+13 to other side and while shifting their signs will change
8x-12-3x-13=0
add -12 and -13 and subtract 8x and 3x now it becomes :
5x-25=0 (ans)
or
now the whole equation is divisible by 5
it becomes:
x-5=0 (ans)
