Zip-a-De… or whatever your name is.
my brother & I are very close actually & as we don't have a father & I'm his [quite a bit] older sister, he thought it made more sense to come to me for advice rather than getting it from his 17 yr old friends who don't have much experience. I have a computer & access to the internet, he doesn't. I think you have a sick mind even saying something so nasty.

I was just hoping to get some help from a different range of people with different ages & experience in life that's all.
What am I supposed to do when my bro comes to me for help?

Scientifically, circumcision does cause the penis to be less sensitive. Unless he has trouble keeping it clean, or he sleeps around a lot, I would suggest leaving that foreskin on. It isn't worth the pain lol.

I was circumcised at birth and hate it. I saw a mate masturbating when I was a kid and realised a bit of what I was missing out on. He could stroke the entire length of his penis using the sliding action of his foreskin whereas I can only get a tiny rim of skin just over the edge of part of the glans, if I do it in just the right way. Some guys are cut so tight that when erect they can't get any loose skin to move up and down at all. They have to masturbate using lube or rubbing dry.
Recent studies have shown that the most sensitive parts of the penis are removed during circumcision. It removes about 15 square inches (roughly 40 square centimetres) of skin, about half the skin of the penis and that skin is packed with nerves and specialised structures. Newly circumcised adult males suffer bruising, swelling, painful erections and ultra-sensitivity of their newly exposed glans as it rubs on clothing. They have to refrain from all sexual activity for at least a month and often more. Sometimes stiches split and there is bleeding. The ultra sensitivity lasts at least a couple of weeks and then usually lessens as the glans thickens its layer of keratin and becomes less sensitive and dried out. The swelling, due to the disruption of the lymph system and blood circulation within the penis, can persist for up to six months.
Males who want to be circumcised as adults are often obsessed with the look rather than the function. Something about the look of the permanently exposed glans turns them on. Some even get off on the surgery and fantasies about that. Many get re-circumcised because they want it tighter. People with this sort of fetish are not rational sources of information about the before and after of the surgery. When you get off on the look and the actual surgery or its results you don't tend to notice the negative effects. It's therefore hard to judge a lot of the statements you read on the net. If people start talking about "High and tight" be very suspicious that you are dealing with a person with a circum-fetish.
I don’t buy that the loss in sensitivity allows a male to last longer during sex. In fact I think I loose control because I can’t feel much and thrusting harder to feel anything makes me orgasm quickly. No studies have found that circumcised men last longer during sex either.
The so-called advantages of circumcision are very much debated. Medical authorities now say that the risks outweigh any possible benefits.

I've noticed that you've asked several related questions on your brother's behalf. Instead of responding to all of them, I'll just respond to this one.

First of all, if he hasn't experienced anything wrong with his foreskin then there's no medical reason for it to get done. If he's getting it done for cosmetic reasons, he should be aware of several things. Circumcision removes lots of nerve endings in the foreskin, so it'd make logical sense for there to be less sexual sensitivity afterwards. A study has shown the penis to be less sensitive after circumcision than before (see link 1). Other studies have found that circumcision not only reduces the sexual satisfaction and pleasure for than man, but the woman as well (see links 2 and 3).

There are a couple things to note about getting circumcision done for hygienic reasons. If he regularly practices good hygiene of his foreskin and penis, that will actually prevent a lot of problems later. Cleaning and keeping the foreskin clean are very easy to do as long as there's nothing wrong with the foreskin hindering it (see link 4). Hygiene can further reduce the risk of penile cancer (which is extremely rare to begin with - there's actually a higher chance of a man getting breast cancer than penile cancer).

Good hygiene can also help reduce the risk of some STDs, including HIV. Recent research has demonstrated circumcision to reduce the rate of contracting HIV. Less publicized is the study that proper and prompt genital hygiene essentially negates this benefit of circumcision. With good hygiene, the difference between uncircumcised and circumcised men in regards to contracting HIV are statistically insignificant (see link 5). Furthermore, no one really knows the cause-effect relationship between circumcision and HIV, so one should hesitate before getting circumcised for this reason. What is clear, good hygiene + safe sex (i.e. condom use) >>> circumcision.

Personally, I've never had any problems with having a foreskin. If it doesn't cause trouble and it's something every guy's born with, then why bother changing that? It's a lot easier (socially) to be uncircumcised in the UK than in the US, and between 70-80% of the world's male population is uncircumcised and the vast majority (~95%) never have any problems resulting from the foreskin. See the last 2 links for further discussion. Hopefully all this helps, and if your brother doesn't have a medical problem with his foreskin, I hope he seriously reconsiders circumcision.

My husband needed to have his foreskin cut off last year(circumcision) so this is what I can tell you. He had it done at a clinic that specializes in this. We both went in for the consult and and viewed photo's of before and after. They said that they would leave most of the inner skin and remove the outer sleeve as the inner skin was where most of the sensitivity is. They kind of turned the foreskin inside out, pulled it back and trimmed it off about 2 inches behind the rim of the head. Since he was an adult it was decided to remove more skin resulting in a tighter cut with no skin bunching up around the rim. After it healed he has a scar all the way around the middel of his penis and you can clearly see the two different skin shades on each side of it. The head dries out to a degree and the corona rim flares out and turns a soft dusty pink where as before it was a greasy purple. He says that sex is good but takes some getting used to as the shaft skin is extremely tight now when he erect. His thrust are harder and deeper. As for me, I like it better. We both like it better. It's maintenance free.

Ok, well, I have been circumcised, though since I was an infant.

Facts I can tell you:

- The sensitivity on the head is lessened, the shiny glow of the head is gone and it toughens the skin, also note the head is the most sensitive part of the penis.

- The foreskin is likely to be torn during intercourse, causing blood transactions to be made throughout both partners, increasing risk of contracting STD's.

- The natural lubricant the penis provides under the foreskin is eliminated, though this should not cause much of a difference it is still one of the few factors that account in circumcision.

I advise it.

I have not been circumcised and never will be. But I do know something about the subject.

ADVANTAGES OF BEING INTACT:
--Circumcision cuts WAY down on sexual enjoyment for the man due to loss of nerve-rich foreskin. A new study proves conclusively, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that circumcision decreases sensitivity for the man. http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2006.06685.x
--Getting cut causes the glans (head) to develop a keratinized layer to protect from rubbing on clothing, further cutting sensation. Many cut men are unable to ejaculate during intercourse and have to finish by hand. Intact men can go all the way.
--nine out of ten women who have had both prefer intact penises: http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/60750.html That's really pretty definitive.
--foreskin makes masturbation more fun - and better for your partner to play with.
--Circumcision hurts when it's done, sometimes to the point that it's excruciating for weeks afterwards.
--a cut penis looks kind of sad with that scar where the foreskin belongs. Uncut is much hotter looking.
--Circumcision has a slight chance of complications. Each year a few baby boys have to have their entire penises amputated and undergo surgery to make them into fake girls. And a few die.

ADVANTAGES OF BEING CUT: Circumcision has no advantages that are not fictional or only relevant in a few areas
--You can be just as clean if you are uncircumcised. Wash. It's THAT simple. Even if you're cut, you still need to wash.
-- If you're sleeping around, you need to use condoms regardless or you will get diseases.
--Some studies have shown a lower rate of cancer of the penis in cut guys, but this cancer is so rare that it's hard to get a good statistical sample. More boys/men die each year from botched circumcisions than from cancer of the penis.
--Recent reports from Africa say that circumcision reduces the risk of AIDS from unprotected hetrosexual activity. This has little relevance to areas of the world where condoms are cheap, readily available, and culturally acceptable. The US has the highest circumcision rate in the developed world and also the highest AIDS rate in that group. http://www.circinfo.org/hiv.html

I was amputated without consent as a baby.

I find it strange that women promote cutting
off a part of a male baby's body, but are
offended when the same is done to females.

Amputation is amputation!

If you're a christian, did God really
screw up when he gave men foreskins?
If not, why are you chopping it off?

I am circumsised and an old girl-friend once told me that I was first circumsised guy she had slept with. She said that the sex was the same for her and she prefered to see the penis without the sleeping bag.

how can a man answer whether if is good to do or not, You should ask in the woman catorgies. in fact, it is really depend on woman if she like man with foreskin or not. Man without foreskin is consider more hygiene if both keep their body clean everyday. But without the foreskin you will have less feel when having sex.

I have heard this asked many times but I don't understand why people ask. If you have been circumsize you won't know how it would feel to have sex if you hadn't anyway so it would just feel like sex to you.

However, I do know that when you are circumsize you lose a lot of the feeling in the end of your penis as it is not protected by your foreskin. However, on the other hand, this will ensure that your penis stays a lot cleaner and most women like that!
