The odds of getting a double "1" or double "2" are 1/36 + 1/36 or 1/18.

When 2 fair dice are rolled, the total number of outcomes = 6 * 6 = 36 {(1,1)(1,2).....(2,1)......(3,1)(3,2)......(6,6)}.

Odds in favor of getting doubles = {(1,1)(2,2)(3,3)(4,4)(5,5)(6,6)} = 6

Hence, the probability is: 6/36 = 1/6
