I think its storage for the website but not sure and if so, how much do I need for a recruiting website? I want to allow users form all over the world to upload their creditials and to allow companies to post their profiles as well.

Think of bandwidth as a water supply line. If you have a small tube as the supply line then only a small amount of water can flow at one time (dialup bandwidth) Now you move to a 1/2" garden hose and water runs much faster. (T1 etc) If you connect a FIRE hose then water really moves fast. (OC3 etc)

With web hosting you need to be able to allow simultanious users to connect thus you need alot more bandwidth available to them (dont forget they have to download AND upload so both directions become critical)

Normally as a website grows the demand for bandwidth grows also.. so where ever you decide to host get one that can accomodate higher bandwidth as needed!

Bandwidth only concerns how many users can connect at one time has nothing to do with the amount of storage at all.
