I am an American and I am proud of my country. I do not believe we should appease everyone in the world. However, I also do not believe we should be appeased by world either. I do not know what it is like in Britain, but there is a great amount of appeasement sentiment in America. Much of this is born out of the fact that we really have it too easy as a country and some people just cannot live with the guilt of that reality. To assuage these guilty feelings they seek to indict their own countrymen for all the world's ills. The United States has done things in the name of foreign policy which are shameful, but mistakes of the government do not make the people bad and I refuse to feel guilt for my heritage.

As too losing your identity through immigration, all I can say is that this is a tough one. I believe in immigration and diversity, but I also believe that immigrants should want to embrace the culture to which they immigrate. The reason I say this is because if the culture you are leaving behind is so grand, then why leave it in the first place? It is important to accept immigrants openly, but it is just as important for immigrants to respect the tenets and beliefs of the people in the host country.

Right or wrong- My country.

Yes it is true that many countries are losing their traditional values because of huge immigration. In most cases the immigrants blend in (after all they did not run away from their own countiries because they liked life there) but sometimes the second generation is a kickback (IMO a version of the "grass is greener" coupled with teary tales of "wonderful life back home") and tries to be more holy than the Pope (or Mullah, rather). In most cases they wake up when they actually see what life really is like "back home". Sometimes however they go bonkers and start believing it's everybody else's fault.
Is it a problem? sure is. Eg. France can't use it's muslim soldiers in combat- they don't trust them. Seems like a good re-think of all immigration-related policies is overdue- but that's soooo un-political correct....

This week in Australia is Anzac Day a day that we commemorate and remember our soldiers the ones that returned home and those that didn't it is the most important day of the year for many and the pride we feel as a nation is indescribable. We should always be proud of our countries no matter the past because the future is there for our children to determine.

of course its true we was a christian country but we cant even have are festivities in public without grief look a Christmas in some places they wanted decorations and lights took down and some schools don't do nativity plays anymore in-case we offend other religions meaning that it OK to offend our true religion its just so wrong now. and its all because the government doesn't want to be called racist, what they don't realise is they can say no to other races and religions without being racist

Silly question, and I understand why you ask.

Patriotism is a moral value. Loving your country is just an extension of loving your family. Defending your country is an extension of defending your family.

Besides that, America is an easy country to love. We have the best of everything here, and we owe a lot to the Brits for our heritage.

I've met a lot of Brit patriots, so don't lose hope. The BBC is just loud and the tabloids own only society's dredges. There is always a silent majority with common values and confidence. Just because they don't speak out doesn't mean they aren't there.

Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. "Allaahumma iyyaakana'budu walaka nusalli wanusjud" (O Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, You can we worship and to You can we prostrate.) : basically in 5 cases on an well-known basis Salaat (prayers) to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, do Muslim's bow (Rukhu'a) and prostrate on the floor with their brow, the knees, the nostril and palms of the two palms touching the floor. Wassalaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.

No one SHOULD EVER have to bow down to anyone or anything else. It is definitely right to feel pride for your country and your beliefs, in fact, I encourage it whole-heartedly.
