what do other countries think about the U.S. government????

i could make some guesses but, i really just want some americans to read it from an intellegent foreign perspective.

You hear a lot from the media that the world hates our guts, but I've traveled all over the world and I've seen nothing but admiration and apathy.

There are a lot of people who don't really care.

And there are a lot of people who really love us.

I had a taxi driver in Dubai who was so happy to have an American service member in his car that he drove me all over town for free sight seeing.

Australian women love American men so much that I've even had them flirting with me in Malaysia! I was waiting for a cab and there was one behind me in line. The moment I said I was an American, she offered to share a cab and go somewhere.

Take a look at all the web sites of Russian and Asian women lining up to marry American men. It's not the men, it's the country. When was the last time you ever saw this kind of publicity to marry Brit men? French men? Mexican men? Indian men?

It just doesn't happen!

Why are American television shows like Baywatch, CSI Miami, the Oscars, and all of our movies shown all over the world, but other countries don't have anything near our success or popularity?

Why are there 66 countries around the world teaching English in their schools to kids either as a first or second language and requiring the language for graduation?

Honestly, why would the media want to lie about all of this? What do they have to gain?

Yes the unthinking world is just falling over itself to catch the next episode of Baywatch.Please read the question.It doesn't ask about American T.V programs or the American people.It asks about the U.S government and as for women queuing up to marry American men well,THAT type of woman would.Just what does 66 countries having English as a second language have to do with America,HELLO English language,English language.

for you americans is better to read the history of your country.Especially past two centuries. When the United States of America established by Gen George Washigton, most of revelutionaries in all of the world hoped the beautiful America is their supporter .But in reality it wasn't. Please just reffer to your countries invassion in past century.
a-invassion to Cuba and helping dictators
b-invassion to Vietnam and killing mor than 4 milliom innocent people.
c-first government that used atomic bombs.
d-always helped dictators like Shah, Sadam,Samooza,.......
e-over thrown national governments; Dr. Mossadeq from Iran
and Dr.????? from Chili and helping Pinooshe and Gen Zahedi....

with the unbelievable and unwated entrance of pelosi in syria, they have to think were cowards and hypocrites...no one approaches terrorist states except liberals with unrealistic goals like that.
