no point. just buy a 318ti or go better with 323ti (almost 200 bhp). By the time you get the power up in a 316ti you could have bought a 323ti and spens a little extra on it to get it to 200 bhp. besides people see that you got an upgraded BMW and they wanna race you. In a 316ti you will get pissed on every time and made to look like a jerk off. So just sell it save up and buy at least the 318ti. any way you can get a roots-type supercharger. Give you a massive power boost costs $4000.

No. It is not turbocharged (unless it is a diesel, in which case it will be a 318td, not a 318ti).

It was a historical reference to the 1602 and 2002 "touring" model of the early 1970s.
So in theory, the "t" stands for "touring", but it was used on the "Compact" model, not the "Touring" model of the 3-series, as the Compact was closer in concept to the earlier 1602 and 2002 touring.

1.8ti? Unless you are talking about a Volkswagen or Audi, it's not turbocharged.
I think your car is the 3-door 'hatchback'? (BTW, don't refer to it as a hatchback, that's a no-no) It is not a turbo. However, you can add a roots-type supercharger and get a screaming 230 horsepower out of it. It's a 2 day job, fairly easy. I put one on my 1996 Z3 (same engine as you have).
