Yes I consider them my Best Friends now that I am an adult.
My mother is 79 and my stepdad will be 81 on the 1st of May. My mother and stepdad have been divorced for quite a few years. One lives in Illinois and the other lives in Texas and I don't live in either of those states but they are my best friends, anyway.
If I ever need anything or if I need to discuss a problem or just need someone to talk to, either of them are there for me. I am closer to my mother but that is to be expected in this case.
Now when I was growing up, my parents NEVER treated me as their friends but instead always did parenting, only, and I am most grateful for that. They were wonderful parents and guided my sister and I much better than I have been able to do with my own children.
I should have tried their methods of parenting my sister and me, on my own children, instead of trying to "Wing It" like I did.
Ha!
Great Question, by the way!

Im now an adult so yes they are my friends. When i was much younger they just stuck to their parenting - which was still cool.

sometimes they are my friends, but when they told me what to do, what not to do and so on then they were my parents:)

They are only my friends. (These days I tell thém what is right and wrong, they became so naughty ever since me and my sisters are grown ups!) But we are good friends and share secrets, go out together sometimes and share advice.

Mine are more like friendly acquaintances. I've been fiercely independent since I was 15.

No, they're just my parents.
We're too different to be friends; we have nothing in common!
Can you believe this?
It sounds outrageous considering they've raised me, right?
Sad but true...

my momma is my best friend. i call her every day... at least 3 times.
she has been my rock when i needed stability. my clown when i needed cheering up. my ear when i needed to chew...
i hope i can be that to my little one as well.
that's what makes it all worth while.
