to make it simple, this is what you do.

for the equation y=5x-10, first find the x and y coordinates. Do this by substituting first y for 0 to find x and then x for 0 to find y like so:

when y=0; 0=5x-10. Thus, 5x=10 and x =2. so the first coordinate is (2,0)

then, when x = 0; y=5(0)-10 so y= -10. so the second coordinate you have is (0, -10)

mark these two coordinates and draw a straighj line through them and you'll be able to find x and y for any value.

If you wanted to check further, substititue x and y with 1 so

when y=1; 1 = 5x-10 thus 5x=11 x = 11/5 = 2.2 so coordinate will be (2.2, 1)

when x=1; y=5-10 = -5 so coordinate is (1, -5)

Get it????

Also a straight line graph has the general equation
y=mx+c (or in the US I think it is ax+b) where m (or a) is the SLOPE of the line and c (or b) is the Constant.

This equation, y=5x-10 is the equation of a straight line in the slope intercept form,
y = mx + b, where m is the slope of the line and b is the y intercept, where the line crosses the y axis.

The line described by y=5x-10 crosses the y axis when x=0 and crosses the x axis when y=0.

To find where the line crosses the y axis,
set x equal to zero and solve the equation,
y = 5*0 - 10, therefore
y = -10,
The line crosses the x axis at y = -10.

To find where the line crosses the x axis,
set y equal to zero and solve the equation,

0 = 5x - 10, or
5x = 10
x = 2

The line crosses the y axis at x = 2.

to remedy the place it intersects with the x-axis, set y = 0, so: 0=2x+5, remedy for x: -5=2x -5/2=x. The x-intercept is at (-5/2,0) to remedy the place it intercept with the y-axis, set x = 0, so: y=2(0) + 5 y=5 The y-intersect is at (0.5).
