ability, capability, capacity, and prowess. is there any difference between these words? plz give me some specific explanation.

Ability - can do
Capability - should be able to
Capacity - amount that it can do
Prowess - best at
and its four synonymous words.

He has the ability to be a great star.
He has the capability, but lacks incentive.
The lift has a capacity of 24 people.
His prowess lies in the sporting arena.

ability : ability and capacity mean about the same thing but are grammatically different: an ability to do something, a capacity for doing something; ability is qualitative while capacity is quantitative

capability : capability implies a reference to one of a set of such abilities

prowess : ability
