I can think of a few parties that would put Scotland's issues first, but, certainly not any of the four main Westminster parties. Obviously the SNP's first thought is always for Scotland, but whether they are competent and committed enough to run a devolved Scotland properly for the good of its people remains to be seen. I certainly hope so, but I'm still not entirely convinced. They talk a lot about how much better things would be if Scotland were independent, but if they can't show that they can change things for the better within the context of devolution, their push for independence could come to nothing.
I also think Solidarity put Scotland's interests first. Say what you like about Tommy Sheridan -"sun tanned socialist" and the like, but he is a conviction politician who has the best interests of the Scottish people at heart. I would certainly trust his party a lot more than that bunch of back stabbers in the SSP.
Above All the Scottish Green Party, would definitely put Scotland first, and they definitely have the competency to do so. I see them as the natural coalition partners of the SNP, since the SNP sit with the Greens in the European Parliament, and I think an SNP / Green coalition would be of great benefit to Scotland as a nation, of great benefit to the Scottish people, of great benefit to Scotland's environment, and would do its relatively small, but not insignificant bit for the global environment.
Unfortunately, I think the upcoming election may be too close for us to get a straight SNP / Green coalition. So I suspect that at least one of the Westminster based parties will be part of the Scottish executive for some time to come.

Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble.
If you vote for a party that lives in one you'll suffer, but the politicians will progress their careers nicely.
SNP, SSP or Solidarity none will be good for Scotland in the longer term, though certain individual politicians may be very good for politics in Scotland.

We should split Engand and Scotland up, it's daft trying to have the same rules all over when they are different places with different needs. Plus that way you can have Gordon Brown and Tony Blair back because we really don't want them!
