I believe it was based upon a true story, in some sense.

I believe that the author of the book had heard stories circulating in the neighborhood about an exorcism. Was the story actually true? One does not know.

But, the story existed and the story involved the basic elements depicted in the movie. A child was supposedly possessed. The Catholic Church sent an exorcist. There were reports of supernatural activity.

If you want to be as accurate as possible, leaving room for the story, as depicted being untrue, you could say it was...

based upon a story that was possibly true.

But, even stories in movies based upon actual true stories are still fictionalized to a degree. That is why it is only "based" upon a true story and not a "true story" altogether.

The movie "Cinderella Man" was based upon a true story, but it isn't entirely true.

Certain true events....that is what has been said. Just like the exorcism of emily rose. That movie was based on events in the seventies in germany. I do believe that the exorcist was based on a story about a boy. I don't remember from when or where. By true events...I mean accounts of people.

Yes, I believe it was based on a true story. Things like that have been known to happen. Have you seen The Entity then? That's even worse, although I only saw the first half then got too scared!!!

a million times!!! I don't believe it was based on a certain person but I do believe that it could happen. Maybe not to that extent but since I do believe in God and the lord Jesus Christ,
I also believe in Judas or the devil, I'm sure thier are people who have been possesed. I personally no of none.

It was probably based on a real story, but I do not believe that it could actually happen.

Or while she stabs herself with the flow downstairs (in case you get what i advise). i think of for me, i've got considered lots of photos of the lady that the certainly face didnt scare me. yet overall this is extremely horrid.

I believe there were actual events that were used to write the story, but I do not subscribe to demonic possession.
