Well, in general as a man, I really do not like other men. However, I love Iranian women. Wow, they are some of the most beautiful in the world! Otherwise, I had a friend in college, Cavai and he was a good guy but like anyone else went crazy when he was drunk. I feel very sorry for the Iranian people because I am not sure whether or not all the news we get here is accurate. Seems like good people overall, the nuclear issue does seem like it is not a good thing. Some of the Sufi spiritual people seem very into praying and good, and excellent philosophy about Spirit.......

No Iran is secure i can assure you...Iran is extremely distinctive from different Islamic international locations...you notice, Iranian human beings have a cleric government yet maximum individuals in Iran are no longer religious in any respect! humorous huh? and sure you're predicted to cover your head in public because of the fact the government forbids women individuals dressing like westerners however the area replaced into very distinctive in the previous the 1979 Islamic Republic..*sigh* btw, I used to have an english boyfriend who labored in Tehran as a instructor :D

As for all the Iranians I have met, they are generally very respectful, friendly, intelligent, and trustworthy. Not all Iranians are a by-product of Ahmadinejad's philosophies. I do know of the struggles your nation has suffered since the mid-1970's, and perhaps prior to that time when the Shah was in power, Khoemeini began his Islamic revolution, and when you suffered in 1980 to 1988 over a million casualities in a war with Saddam's Iraq. You are now suffering from UN sanctions because of your government's policies on uranium enrichment. I do know your domestic economy is not good because of them and because of your past history. The US must get back to diplomatic talks with all nations, even so-called enemy nations. How are we going to perceive one another if we don't have the mutual respect to communicate with one another? Ahmadinejad's hatred for Israel is an issue that divides us. Why can't we consider issues in the Middle East that would unite us? Individual Iranians have seemingly little control over what he does or says, only your Ayatollah. They reject the reformist movement and latest election results. Apart from politics and misunderstandings, I do not hate or mistrust you. I believe there is nothing we couldn't solve if we all had mutual respect for one another.

I dno i hate your president but people are people.
I read the book "Not without my daughter" about an American woman who is made to come and visit her husbands fmily in Iran and then they force her to stay there, and in this book the women are not treated well and on TV lots of propaganda is fed from the government to hate USA. It happened a while ago, so it may be out of date.
Nothing against the people, unless they have something against me.

Hello! I am a woman from Holland, and I would like to answer something to your question.
First of all, we are all people, and I think we should look at each other in that way. And I think it is really impossible to say something about all Iranians or about all Dutch or western people.
I think some people here think a bit like you describe. But what I read from your e-mail, you seem to say that it is not a true picture of the people of Iran that western people get. I know what you mean. It is due to 1. the political situation in Iran, the people that have the power there, 2. the people that are in power and the media here.
I have Iranian friends here. In Holland, there are quite some immigrants from Iran and other countries like Irak and Afghanistan. I wanted to help some of these people to live here and make them feel welcome by helping with the Dutch language. And I like languages, and Iike to meet people from other countries. So it was very nice and I got to know this Iranian woman and her husband. We connected very well and they were so welcoming to me too, and I sure consider them friends.
Ofcourse we also talked about Iran and I read some things (newspaper, books) and watched things on television. I guess that in Holland it might be easier to get a more nuanced view on countries in the muslim world than in the US. There are sometimes very good tv programmes here.
So I think Iranian people are usually not terrorists, but would like to be free, love to dance (and I know they do :) ), and I think many men would also like the women to be free like that. I think the picture we get of Iranian people that are always in the street to shout "hate America", is not very truthful. I do think there are some Iranian men (and maybe women) that don't want equal rights for women, and I think some Iranian people have political-religious ideas that are certainly not mine or hate the western world.
But I think most people, in Holland and in Iran, are quite moderate and humanistic in their world-view. I try to tell people here too, that there is not so much simple, black and white truth, and that most people in Islamic countries are not so different, and just want to live peacefully, free, with their family and friends, like most people here.
You say that many people are wondering what the western people think. Please tell your friends and family that we want peace and don't want bad for Iran. And there are many people here that are critical of the people that are polarizing about "the west" versus "the east", and that seem to fuel hate. If you can, try to tell the rest of the world how you are feeling, that you also want to live good and free and want peace.
My best wishes for you and the Iranian people,
J K.

Personally I have never meet an Iranian I did not like.
My only question is why dont you overthrow your dictatorship?
If it is true that the majority of Iranians do not like the Government then please get rid of it.
