There's two guys that always seem to share best answers - Sexy Evertonian and The Sexy Scot. As I always try to compose the best answer it's disappointing when it appears the choice is already made in advance which will be the best: and if you scan through there are some great answers to their questions but the Best Answer is usually 'I agree' or something else really poor. What can we do about cheats ?

does it matter ? Of course it matters that we spend our time answering, and trying to help. I'm not worried about points either, or ratings but what I don't like is that someone is trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

Hi The so called cheat here !!! can i just say if you look through my best answers i do give best to other people.
Firstly I do not have another account !!! the sexy scot is my partners son !!! i have helped him get some points to get him going and he being young tends to give me bests alot !!!
I make no apologies for this asim sure alot of people would do the same. unlike alot of people though when i answer a question, i give a star, cause if its taken my fancy to answer it, it must be worth it !!! i also rate answers and read every answer to one of my questions AND if it does strike me as a very good answer I GIVE IT.
So excuse me for being human and not having anything else to do but sh1t stir , i will now get on with my life !!! and can i just say if you do succeed in getting mine or my lads account suspended , i hope it gives you such a kick , as it seems your life is so empty !!!

I seen people who get best answer just for saying one word answers that the majority of the people have also answered. I think since the stars and the thumbs up and down that Yahoo Answers basically is just a popularity contest. So I am not concerned about one guy and his need to feel good by gamepointing.

yes i see what you mean but with only 7% best and 11% best answers then they/he not doing it on a grand scale ! Look at the top of the leader board and tell me how the leader gets all those best answers, so much more than the next one down !

I don't think they are but saying that a person can choose their own B.A! it';s not for us to say .. I've noticed quite a few do it but not naming names . I just avoid their questions now . Honestly whoever does it i think is sad . I'd rather NOT have as many B.A! in 1 catergory so i can get rid of this annoying orange tag :(

It's called 'Point Gaming', and yes, it's a reportable offense. There was a group of 4 kids on the Politics and Government pages who would do the same thing, always giving Best Answer to one of their group, usually with a "You are right again" or "Your insight is amazing" in the comments.
Sadly, even if they're caught and kicked off, they'll just be back again with new names.
Sadder yet, they're cheating on YA. It's not like they're becoming a penny richer, they just have alot of points, which can be used for...what is it again? Oh, NOTHING. They're cheating to get points that can't be used for anything.
Report them, but pity them as well.

Whilst I completely agree with your concept.....cheating is bad; there are far more important and worthy things going on in the world that need our attention more than the issue of points gained on Yahoo Q & A.

It's not pleasant been accused of something when you are entirely innocent and it is another persons paranioa that condems you...Be sure to have the FACTS first before going on a man hunt.I've given the same people BA now and again because they not only gave me excellent advice but also had me in hysterics..

There are loads of people doing that and yeah its cheating but its not even a game we're playing so why bother yourself.
