It would be best for the male and female look at the consequence of having sex (before marriage) especially if anyone don't use protection. It's not too much of a matter of bad fathers, it's just many men don't intend to have kids. Parenthood should be well plan by both couples.
I do agree that men don't take the responsibility as they should, but also this situation falls into the hands of mothers as well.
God Bless

There are ofcourse men who love to raise children and are great dads and women who are horrible mothers but there is a huge trend happening of single families. I suppose that a lot of it has to do with the fact that for men, sex has less consequences than for women. I think that they should really be taking precautions in this matter or settle down and have a family.
:) Btw I know how you feel. I grew up pretty much w/o a father aswell.

It's ironic that you need a marriage license to get married, but not be a parent.
When two people get married and decide to have children, they both feel and accept the responsibilities that they will be good parents. No experience required. A lot of fathers are not bad, but emotionally absent and that impairs their parental abilities big time. I grew up with a father but he was emotionally absent. I am glad I was born!
That fathers do not pay child-support is tragically criminal. It usually is done as an act against the mother and it is the kids who suffer.
Some of the issues you raise come out in the movie "Kramer Versus Kramer". Check it out.

you know what else is rare? a fair child support payment!
OK, lets see...
-rent; 1000
-electric 300-500
-food 100-300
-heat 300-400
-phone/cable 100
-water bill 50
-sewer bill 50
THESE ARE BILLS THAT THE WOMAN WOULD HAVE IF SHE HAD KIDS OR NOT!!!!!
so lets see
diapers 75per month (if your too good for cloth diapers )
-formula/food 200
clothing/shoes/boots 100-150 every 2 to 3 months
this is about 325 to 375 a month
so now lets be FAIR and divide The ACTUAL cost of the kid that's 162.50 up to 187.50 a month
bet you don't see child support like that very often
judges can add well there problem is in there division

I disagree. We focus on all the bad on the world, but never on all the good. There are a lot of bad fathers, just like there are a lot of murderers and rapists and crime. Just because people shoplift doesn't mean that there should be no shops. Having a child is a big deal and its not something that is easy to handle. If a person runs away from the child it means that they couldn't handle it, and that does make them a bad father. But that guilt from running away will be on their heads for the rest of their life. There are bad people in the world, but instead of focussing on the bad people, we should focus on the good people - the dads that stay behind and take care of their children and love them unconditionally, who don't beat them, who would give up their lives for their children. These are the people we should concentrate on, rather than the bad eggs.

There is a reason it takes 2 to procreate. It takes 2 to properly raise a child. The blame for the problem is not just the men. Young women think that having a baby will make things better. Once the baby is there, it is too late to change your mind. Men cannot procreate on their own. It takes two to make the baby.

Sex and been a father is two different thing. When you have sex you do not expect to think about children at the point, it only goes into your head when the girl tells you that she is pregnant.
You need to see the world better, you are seeing them with your bad experience step out of the shell and see again, you will see the difference.
I feel bad for you but as a dad I think I am doing my part for my children.
I am planning for my son wedding, his honeymoon and his first home(initial deposit) from my own money...I am not a rich man but I believe in giving my children as much as headstart even it means I live a simple life that keeps me happy.....

Some men weren't taught responsibility and some just don't care.
And now with so many penalties within the law for deadbeat dad's , you would think they would want to do right by their children.
Guess it goes back to just not caring...
I agree 200% and the same goes for some women also...
