What always amazes me is how many conflicting responses you get to a question like this.
My personal advise is to read the packet that came with your pills. If it didn't have one go on the Internet and put in the brand name. You should be able to find the pill packet info. That should tell you how many days or months (each brand is different) you have to have to be safe.
As for being safe to have sex on your period. Medically there is no harm. Safe from pregnancy will depend completely on your own body's set time clock. Every woman has a pattern of when they ovulate, also how often and and many times a cycle. I would suggest talking with your doctor about it.
Hope this helps

I don't mean to be mean, but if you don't know the answers to these questions you shouldn't be having sex!
Most women Do NOT ovulate during their period. Ovulation usually takes place approximately 12 to 14 days past the last day of your cycle. Depending on the length of your cycle semen can live approximately 7 days. And egg can be viable for about 7 days.
You do the math.
Once you start taking the pill you should be safe from Pill One as long as you take them as prescribed.
The following website gives you lots of information about fertility with charts and days you would be at risk.

Well, using the old and UNRELIABLE way to count days, I can tell you that last day before your period and the first day after your period, and all the days of your period are safer than other days. However, never trust this! I know many examples of women who got pregnant exactly this way (by having sex on their period). Also, maybe this way works for very few women whose cycle is exactly same every month, so that they can know exactly their safe days. For rest of us, DON'T rely on this! Take pills, use condoms. Most you can do to take advantage of these "safe" days is to have unprotected sex and if your partner can control himself, ask him not to ejaculate inside. Better yet to be on pill. You are safe on pill in a week after you start it.

The only safe sex is with a condom. You can still become pregnant during your period. Anytime. Before or During or After. Though during is less likely. STILL possible.
If you just mean is it ok to have intercourse while bleeding. I believe it's a personal choice. I have never heard it doing harm. It's just messy.. lol..

If your partne doesn't mind you having sex while menstruating that's fine.
Yes, during our period it is a considered safe time but due to every female being different there is a very small chance of conceiving.

Why hurry to go to bed, on third day itself, allow another 3-4 days for your body to become stable. By that time you are prepared mentally also. And it is healthy to both partners. Good luck.

you need to be on the pill for a month for it to be effedtive. use something else like a condom for that month. you are never safe to have sex anytime in your cycle. accidents happen all the time. be safe!

7th would be a last day but you are not 100 % safe. do the 6th day for the safest day.
