i bring up this up because being a 20 yr old, i see myself in the VAST minority among most of my peers. I completely blame the far left movement (which nicer than calling them communist) for this. I grew up having my teachers push there ideologies on me and my classmates basically every year. Basically all TV movie and music celebrities have the same bush bashing protesting agenda that they cram into everyones head. plus throw in the loony conspiracy theorist here & across the globe and you have the machine that fuels the hatred for America and anyone who doesnt agree with this political ideology. Are there any true democrats left that feel that this movement is getting way out of control?

note:

i dont ask this because i am a "young undecided voter" ready to be swayed and manipulated by liberals. I am a proud republican who luckily thanks to my father, wasnt conned by the left.i just bring this up to see if there are any moderate democrats and even liberals that agree. And vast..i completely agree 100%.

Your youth excuses your ignorance. Please become educated and these pondering of yours will answer themselves. Bush is a lying, evil, war-mongering puppet of big oil and big money. Our Americans are dying so they can get richer than God. Bush should be impeached. My prayer is that someone will give him a BJ so he will be impeached. Read some news from various sources. If you can, find some outside of the US. Stay away from Fox news which it sounds as if you have been over-exposed to already. Good luck on your maturation.

Truth be told, you need to see a little bit more of life, and begin to think more on your own. While the far left is pretty bad, the far right, with talk radio and the "Religious" Right isn't any less extremist. And also, you might want to learn the difference between communism and American liberalism. Vastly different ideologies, just as different, if not more so, than the difference between fascism and American neo-conservatism.

I will say that the ideologies on the fringe of the American right and left have diverged more in recent years than they once were, although the politicians representing the right and left are a lot alike. But I think that polarity is not necessarily a bad thing, because it means that (at least in theory) that there is a clearer choice. While unity is important to a degree, you don't want everyone thinking the same in government, do you? Something along the lines of a one-party government like communist yet capitalist China?

As you learn more about politics (while taking off some of your ideological blinders), you may find that your actual political views don't match up easily with the right or the left. While I'm a liberal by label, my views don't line up neatly on the Democratic party checklist, and on some issues, I'm rather conservative. Really, most Americans aren't so easily classifiable.

Learn a little more about politics (and not just from the ideologues, the teachers or even your father), and that will help you see that just like there's no far-right comspiracy, there's no far-left conspiracy either.

I disagree that the machine that fuels the hatred for America exists outside the machinery of governemnt. But I agree that modern media must be watched carefully by the masses.

I think you have to re-think your statement that all TV movie and music celebs are leftist. Seems to me that the underlying ideology of music videos these days is anarchy - which is a machiavellian strategy that goes way back to the roots of classical republicanism.

The Far Left and communism are very different ideologically as far as goals are concerned. While one is a political movement with a very distinct (and I argue excusive) view of society, the other is an economic system that is purported to be egalitarian. We will have to see - it has never been achieved. This may be because once power is achieved it is hard to relinquish for the greater good.

You can check this statement against the actions of your last few presidents.

PS:
People from other places around the world do not hate the majority of American people. We deplore your government and what it is doing in Iraq, Afghanistan, potentially to Iran and N. Korea. A true democrat will do everything s/he can to stop military invasions of other nations because of the tenets of democracy, and what these stand for. Foremost, the rights of unrestricted political participation to end oppression, exclusion, and/or persecution. People are not free when their democracy is imposed upon them as an import from America, esp. when it is so very obviously spoiled from years of neglect and misuse.

I'm about where you are in terms of my educational experience. I'm currently a freshman in college, so I'm having a good look into the "communists" in higher education.

Now then, to start of, I could easily be considered a communist. I don't use the term myself (I use revolutionary democratic socialist or just simply socialist), but there it is. From my experiences, in high school and so far in college, has been that this idea of "communists in the educational system) is mostly false. This may be because the high school I went to and the college I go to are generally considered conservative leaning, and you may have had a different experience in your education. However, I'd wager to say that's not the case. Do college professors have a tendency to be more left-leaning than other groups? Probably yes, but this idea that the universities are full of communists is mostly false.

I used to be one of the left-liberals (before everybody else was; because I didn't like the Republican policies on Civil Liberties and Iraq), but I learned economics and became a Libertarian.

Personally, I'm now glad that Bush beat both Al Gore and John Kerry, though I think he's far from acceptable as a president.

I don't expect the left-liberalism to last too much longer. If more young people remembered Bill Clinton's ridiculous school uniform idea or his teen curfews, there would be alot less enthusiasm for the Democrats. I recognized at the time that the Martha Stewart persecution (she was a political prisoner) and the Kelo decision were wrong. For a time, I actually thought that the Democrats were the party of freedom (having forgotten what Clinton wanted to do), but Hillary's attempt to ban Grand Theft Auto turned me against her.

Its really tough trying to convince anybody of the truth on Global Warming. The media bias on that issue in particular is significant. Even Wikipedia (which is relatively fair most of the time) is heavily biased in favor of Global Warming alarmism. Its important that the left-liberals don't send us back to the Middle Ages (which is what Environmentalism wants to do). However, few people are willing to accept the facts on Global Warming, that it is caused by the sun.

Maybe the Republicans could ditch the anti-Civil Liberties stuff and support somebody like Ron Paul. Congressman Paul could wipe the floor with Obama or Hillary in a debate. Unless Iraq is more important to the Republicans than things like gun rights or Capitalism (which Giuliani, McCain, and Romney all have weak records on), Ron Paul's about as good a candidate as you could ask for. Congressman Paul's non-interventionist foreign policy calls for peace and trade with all nations, but alliances with none. I'm certain he would have made sure we got Osama after 9-11, but I don't think he'd have made the mistake of going to Iraq (what did we have to gain from getting rid of a dictator who hated terrorists and kept them out of his country?). Congressman Paul would like to send abortion back to the states, which would get rid of it, at least in some states (by taking away the Supreme Court's jurisdiction). He also want to stop the North American Union and illegal immigration.

The Democrat Congress thus far has shown itself to be even worse than the Republican Congress. They're trying to pass a law to end the secret ballot to determine if a workplace unionizes. They've also raised the minimum wage (level at which all jobs that pay less are outlawed) and desire to destroy the Internet through "Network Neutrality." There were some bright points in the Republican Congress (though they did pass No Child Left Behind and Medicare Part D, which are the most left-liberal laws passed since LBJ) such as when they (almost) got rid of the Death Tax.

The leftists oppose Bush because he isn't left-liberal enough. Libertarians (and Paleo-Conservatives) oppose Bush because he's too left-liberal.

Ya know it's a very subjective question, and I'll be honest with you, I don't necessarily agree with you. I'm also a Liberal too, and perhaps that's why. usually when I look at US media, I often think it's right wing biased. True, hollywood does tend to have a Liberal bias, but I think for the most part they do an ok (I won't say a good) job of shooting stuff.

For example (and I'm not trying to pick a fight, I'm just pointing it out) the media never fully explored Bush family business relations with the Bin Laden's. The media never mentioned a word of Bush flying his family out of the United States on 9/11. During the Iraq War, the media definitley didn't show all the aspects of the situation. This says to me a right wing bias.

I think one thing we can both agree on, is the business that the media is in. Their job, unfortunatley, is to keep us watching. To do that, statistically speaking, they like to act on our emotions by showing things that will piss right and left wingers off. Negative attention is still attention. When you have attention you have advertisements.. when you have those you've made your bread and butter. It sucks, but unfortunatley that's the way the business is.

I would like to see more debates to be honest with you. It seems like political talk shows only spew out their side without considering the others. I think more Americans would appreciate up to date debates and news from both right and left wing to make educated voting decisions. Just my opinion.

It is great to read that there is some young people who have not been brainwashed by the Neo Marxists. You are right in the main the so called celebs are left wing air heads who are given room to spread there loathing of there country , traditional faith and family values. What really concerns me though is how teachers are getting away with indoctrinating children its about time parents and concerned citizens challenged this . There is a movement in the south that supports parents and advices placing your child in private schools or home tutoring.

I agree with you one hundred percent. Problem is, there is no true democrats left , and the ones that are, are the typical, point the finger and blame the other party or some one else. The only way a Democrat can win is to use propaganda, lie about everything and blame someone else, and some ignorant people will do just that. Democrats is responsible for this movement. They are never going to admit it, they never admit anything they are doing or did wrong, they could it up, them double standards they have, they use it all the time.

I guess it is rather hard for you to also accept constructive criticism about how this country is being run. Unfortunately, I'd say you would be in the vast minority in regards to the latest poll numbers who say Bush's leadership has gone to the pits, and 60% now trust the Democratic Party leaderships' judgments more than the Bush/Cheney machine. Propaganda? No, just the truth.

Keep being an independent thinker. Just because the majority think a certain way doesnt mean a thing. Most people will blindly follow the majority for fear of being different and/or too lazy to think on their own.
