He's done a couple of movies I liked. "The Hunt for Red October" and "The Shadow" come to mind.

Mostly though I just find him a bad-tempered egomaniac. I was particularly shocked at his recent voice-mail to his daughter in which he called her an "inconsiderate little pig."

I've been through a divorce and I understand the pressures, but we gotta care about the kids. I hope he at least apologized to her. If he did I can muster a shred of respect for him. Still think he's not a particularly great actor though, and getting a bit past his prime as a chick magnet.

I think he is a good actor, although rumors of him being difficult on the set supposedly got him removed from the "Jack Ryan" role. Thats too bad. I thought he made a great "Jack Ryan."
I was actually looking to see if someone had asked a question on if they thought his rant to his daughter hurt his political aspirations. If he did apologize to his daughter, I wonder if the media will report it. I doubt it. They tend to tell the truth only if it keeps the blood in the water. It was poor taste to put the call on the air in the first place. That was something that should have been kept between the lawyers of the girls parents.

Alec is getting past his prime as a chick magnet, but that does not mean mediocre actors are through. Look at William Shatner. An old war horse that keeps on . There are many others.

Alec Baldwin wasn't the reason I liked "The Hunt for Red October," but I think it was the best movie he was in. Sean Connery, James Earl Jones, Fred Thompson, and several other very strong actors helped make this a good movie. It also stayed reasonably close to the Tom Clancy story line, and failure to do that weakened some of the later Tom Clancy-inspired movies. (Especially "Sum of All Fears"--totally LAME!)

He played the doctor role in Malice quite nicely, and he has a SNL-school sense of humor. But, note the answer above, per Affleck, and the question in Family Guy, "How does Kevin Costner get work?!"--by comparison, Alec's a welcome casting pick.

He is virtually unknown now. Not making any movies lately since Mercury Rising.

I don't know about the movies he's been in but he is great on the show "30 Rock". Very funny.
