I have a Holland Lop and the past couple of days I've been finding weird discharges in his litter box. I'm not sure whether he's been throwing up, if it's a hairball, or if it's diahrrea...
It's a yellowish, tanish, brownish color that's softer than the rabbit droppings. It also is usually in clumps which are either larger and smaller than his droppings. Also, there are regular droppings and urine in the litter box and in his cage as well. He also drinks a lot of water too.
Could it be because I gave him a toilet paper roll to chew on? Is that it? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I hope my rabbit is all right!

Sorry, I meant I just gave him the roll, there was no toilet paper on it!

Rabbits cannot throw up so it isn't that and hair is always in a rabbit's stomach and you won't see that in the litter box either.
Diarrhea is rare in adult rabbits, but they can get runny stool and it is usually related to a diet too high in starch and not high enough in fiber. Is your bunny getting enough hay? It sounds like it could be uneaten cecals.

Chewing on cardboard is usually ok, just be sure he doesn't eat too much of it.

It will be diarrhoea. Rabbits are actually not capable of being sick - they don't have the mechanism.

Rabbit digestive problems are very common, but it's more usual for them to have constipation. If he's passing normal poos too, I myself wouldn't be too worried - although I'm not ruling out a trip to the vets if you are worried!

You might want to re examine the rabbit's diet. This is the most common cause of digestive problems. Rabbits should have a diet consisting of 75% hay, and proper rabbit pellets (not mix). Fruit and veg should not be given more often that once every other day - too much veg, or the wrong sort, is the most common cause of diarrhoea. I'll give you a list of suitable veg for bunnies - they shouldn't have strawberries (or any soft fruit) or iceberg lettuce.

If you correct the diet (if it needs correcting) and still have problems, I would certainly recommend a vet checkup.

I wouldn't give him toilet paper to chew on. It would be better to give him the roll from the paper if you cant to give him something to gnaw on, or something more organic. They DO need to chew but toilet paper has no substance so it can't be very satisfying for him. It may be hairballs though. Hairballs can be a big problem for bunnies. Get some hairball remedy to give him occasionally.

Sounds like it might be something called sludge. I would definately bring him to the vet asap.

Do you give him tap water? Maybe it's the tap water-my guess is he has a liver infection and purer water might fix it or some fresh shredded lettuce
