I purchased a tube of PERMATEX brand: High-Temperature red RTV gasket maker, But on the back of the tube it says "NOTE: Not recommended for use on head gaskets or parts that come in contact with gasoline" . The cashier at advanced auto parts store told me that the head gaskets do not need any type of silicone or RTV because the heat from the engine will secure a seal on, so just to put on the head gaskets without any RTV .

Lol...

No. Please do not put RTV on headgaskets. I work in vehicle maintenance for the USAF, and we use RTV as a LAST RESORT. Fix it the proper way. it will save you problems in the future.
