ANY PLACE is better than California -- was stationed there while in the Armed Forces .. and so RELIEVED to be ANYWHERE out of that state!
Now if you asked where you would retire ... the answer would be a state that is NEITHER of these ......

Texas, because I'm from there. I have heard that there are some strange things going on in California. Not that there aren't some in Texas, but California seems to take the crown.

Depends on what for. To visit . . .I would choose California as it is nice to see all the big hollywood homes and the stars in the sidewalks, the beach. It is beautiful. I live in Texas and would rather live here as the cost of living is so much better there than in California. It is really nice. Plus now that I am older I would just like to visit the beach occasionally rather than be there all the time.
