In the news today, a teen girl won $25,000 for having the most text delivered to friends in a short time. Don't you find this ridiculous? Couldn't they invested this large amount of money to a environmental program, or something that will benefit our issue on global warming? Or build houses, fix streets, donate to the less fortunate, donate to a hospital, etc.? Something productive?

Couldn't they at least made the competition about something else other than a text messaging competition?

Sorry you guys, but that was just a lame competition. Peace!

I at least hope that girl uses that money for college or something that will do good in her life.

I think whoever came up with it had to much time on their hands and to much money. Ridiculous!
I just sounds completely stupid. Why don't they make up a competition to motivate kids to do better in school. Texting? that's lame

I was watching that story on Cold Pizza this morning, they interviewed the girl. Compelling stuff: What did you do to practice? A: I just texted my friends a lot. Amazing.

Yes it's completely ridiculous, but hell, this is America. There are people who consider eating to be a sport, amongst other silly things.(Nice way to promote the eating of more junk food by the way) It's a good story to laugh at for sure. Maybe it was a move by the wireless companies to create a trend of increased text messages. Were the amount of recent text messages dropping too low? Not only can you contact your friends at any time, but you could one day become the Text Messaging Champion! Give the youngin's some motivation to use their cell phones even more.(Is that possible?)

But I don't think the girl is stupid for doing it. If someone's willing to give you money for something as trivial as that, you take it! Don't hate the playa, hate the game. Or somethin' like that.

It was probably a phone company sponsoring it. Hundreds of company's do similar contests for the advertisement.
She is using some of the money for college. If you won something, maybe a new car, or boat, are you going to sell it and donate the money to fix streets?
Instead of complaining about her good fortune, why don't you go out and donate your time to the less fortunate. Peace!

absolutely everyone who says "you're actually not the proper till you bypass to the WWE" is a f*cking fool. i'm able to call a lot of wrestlers interior the international not in WWE that are 10x extra suitable than over 0.5 of the WWE roster ultimate now. Austin Aries, Chris Hero, Davey Richards, KENTA, Kota Ibushi, Shingo, AJ kinds, Samoa Joe, Desmond Wolfe, Christopher Daniels, homicide, Mistico, Motor city device weapons, The Briscoes, youthful greenbacks/technology Me, Dragon youngster, Colt Cabana, etc.. Can absolutely everyone truthfully say with a immediately face say that the WWE roster is excellent? Can absolutely everyone truthfully say that a roster with Sheamus, The Miz, great Khali, David Otunga, Vladimir Kozlov, Mark Henry, Hornswoggle, John Cena and Randy Orton is excellent? i don't care in the event that they have Chris Jericho, ingredient and CM Punk, the WWE roster ultimate now as an entire is incredibly undesirable. WWE isn't the proper advertising interior the international and that i don't know how absolutely everyone would desire to assert they are. WWE has lots of the worst wrestlers interior the international ultimate now (great Khali and Mark Henry are 2 examples). and to not point out the reality that WWE would not care related to the midcard titles. it incredibly is a shame what the IC identify, the Tag group titles, and the U.S. identify have become over the final 5 years. they are basically meaningless. WWE marks/fanboys provides you me as many thumbs down's as they choose yet i don't provide a sh*t. BQ: confusing to choose on the grounds that they are all great tag communities, yet i think of i'll bypass with the The Briscoes.

I think the money should be used to buy hearing aids or to pay the dentist bill for people who don't have plenty of money. I think spending it on global warming would be a terrible waste; I would prefer to put it in that girl's college fund or make a down payment on her house when she gets older. Or you could send it to me so I could buy a new piano.

i totally agree with you there. who even sponsored the money to back it?
lol-maybe they thought that since she obviously has no life, she would never get a real job so needed the money, if only to pay for what she was wasting by texting in the first place.

I couldn't agree more. Maybe they should have used the money for her to go to college to learn better skills than text messaging. ;)

I agree. Don't think it's a lame question at all.

Big mogul companies don't care about the environment or any other issues. Just the way it is and always will be.
Sad but true. :-(
