When you say it, is it a human brat or a sausage brat. Well, here is what I got for from brat, whatever it may be?
Human variety - Give it tender loving care, understanding and be patient
manufactured variety - After simmering for 20 minutes it should be fully cooked

You should never hit out of anger. I don't smack my daughter and she is well behaved. Hitting you daughter will only teach her that when she is angry she should hit to, this will backfire on you in the long run. I would say go in another room when she annoying you and calm down and imagine how bruised you would be if people gave you a good smack every-time you annoyed someone!!!!!!!

Unfortunately if you do that the brat will use violence in any situation where it does not feel in control when he/she grows up.
Ignore it - and then it won't drive you up the wall if you don't react. But it takes patience to get this started.

smacking is used in our house as a threat but not really followed through, to smack in temper is worse because it means you've lost control. Just put them in another room. That works for me x

Use abit of gentleness, try talking to it ,give it a hug, sing a lullaby, give it a sweet or some other treat......failing that Smack the annoying little git !!!!! lol
