Sure do. How can you date, be in love with or marry someone with whom you haven't shared a friendship. Friends know what you are about, your likes, your dislikes what makes you laugh or cry. The laugh or hurt with you, they have common interests and goals.
Are these not the things a lasting relationship should be based on. So Yes Friends First.

I believe that being friends is the best way to start a relationship so you get to know each other before you start dating so you know if you are gonna be compatiable in some ways. however love at first sight is nice too but still caution to the friends first side because there are alot of jerks out there.

It's good to have a girlfriend and/or boyfriend that you can be good friends w/as well as share romantic relations...

It's always good to take a little time to get to know the person you're dating...but you may not want to wait because the attraction is so strong.

Yes and no.

Yeah. I'd rather date a friend than date someone while trying to get to know them because at least with a friend I already know how they are and what are like rather than figuring out who the person is while dating them. 'cause then you find yourself not liking the person you found in them, and then breaking up, which sometimes results in you two not being friends afterwards.

My boyfriend of three years and I have been friends for five of them. I got a chance to get to know who he is and whatnot, and we developed a great friendship and took it to the next level. and it's obviously worked out for us.

Most definitely yes. Even if the relationship doesn't work out, if you had a strong foundation for a friendship, you'll will have at least gained a friend, and the experience of a relationship beyond it. :)

That's better, I wasn't sure of the context, so I didn't answer.

Yes, I believe in friends first, lovers forever. Passion waxes and wanes, but friendship grows stronger over time.

i think you should be friends before, during, and after (after when possible) I cant be friends with my ex, because of my protection from abuse order and also the fact that he tried to kill me, haha
