Simple.

Just start a business, only that you use your home as an office.

Think about it..that's all that's to it really.

The real question is what kind of business are you planning to start. Work from there...each industry has their own unique requirements. Once that's answered, you will have a better idea as to whether is it suitable for your business to be run from home.

Pros:
1. Comfort
2. Low starting cost (focus starting capitol on working the business)
3. Convenient
4. Less risk involved
5. Good springboard (for future growth)

Cons:
1. Limited Space (if your biz needs to carry stock)
2. Lack of a Professional Image (again, it depends on your target market and your type of business)
3. Lack of seperation from work/play (when u are at a work place, your mind is tuned for work. vice versa. some people might end up getting stressed coz your home, which is supposed to be a safe and relaxing haven, might become a battlefield)

This are just some. I hope I helped.

First do some research about the kind of business you want to start. Then follow up by getting a business license, a certificate to collect sales tax (if your state has a sales tax) and then order some of the items you'll be selling. We have an online shopping website and I can personally say that it's been hard and we haven't gotten any sales yet and our site is a year old this month, but don't get discouraged just keep trying. The one thing we found to be most expensive is advertising! The search engines are wicked. Some of them will charge YOU every time somebody clicks on your "keyword". If you have money to invest in advertising, then you shouldn't have a problem. Unfortunately, that's what we didn't have.

You can start a home based business in direct sales or internet/network marketing, or you can choose to sell your own products or services. As previously mentioned, you should choose something your are passionate about. A benefit of working from home is that you can set your own schedule -- a related drawback is that you may find yourself often working outside of normal business hours to get your business up and running.

Obviously you would have to decide what type of business sparks your interest. Depending on the type of business you choose there are different start-up methods and they vary greatly. For me, one of the benefits is that I set my own hours and choose how I want to work my business and of course I get so much more time with my kids. A drawback to working at home is YOU are responsible for keeping yourself on track. No one else is monitoring you, therefore you need to keep on task and motivated all on your own. Make sure that if you are not normally an organized person that you get that way (at least with your business)! It is very difficult to succeed in a home-based business unless you are organized. I work with a company called AmeriPlan USA. I really enjoy working for them and would recommend looking at their website if you are considering making a move this direction. You can visit my site at www.freedomathometeam.com/40498114. One more suggestion I would make would be to do your homework. Not all work-at-home opportunities are legitimate and you want to be sure that the one you choose is. Good luck in your search.

Choose a product you are interested in. Advertise it. Don't worry about your competition. Competition is good. Get a business license. Don't become to relax just because you are working out of your home. Stay focused and motivated. Make sure you have enough clients to keep you in business.

Be careful of the answers you'll get here. Most will be network marketing (better known as Ponzi schemes).
