yeah, it hurts, big time!! it took almost a year before mine became where it wasnt so tender-it feels the same as getting your lobes pierced when you 1st do it, but i dont think its worth it unless its something you totally want to do for yourself, no one else. and you can always take it out if it hurts too bad

Cartlidge piercings hurt when you get then and basically hurt almost all the time if you aren't careful how you sleep. I've had mine for about 13 years, so I should know.
Is it worth it, I'd have to say yes, I love it and am still glad I did it. I think it looks great.
I have very short hair so you can actually see it most of the time. Also, I had it done when I had very long hair, and wore my hair in a pony tail so people noticed it a lot. Got a lot of compliments on it.
You do have to take care of it for a long time, like forever, always cleaning it and always using solid gold, niobium, or titanium. Never ever use silver,it will get infected and close right up.
It will still get infected after a number of years. Always put something like neopsorin on it on intervals to keep the bacteria out.

I got mine pierced when I was about 12 and I didn't think it hurt at all. Stubbing my toe hurts worse. But, it does hurt if it gets in infected. So, you should clean the piercing and your earrings with the cleanser (that usually is provided for you when you get a piercing) very often. Until the hole has healed, you won't be able to take your earring out. So, take into consideration things like which side you talk on the phone with and which side you sleep on. For me, I have to sleep on a certain side. Unfortunately, that was the side I got pierced. But, I dealt with it by propping my pillow a certain way. I definitely think it was worth it. I'll have my piercing forever and I only had to deal with pain for a little while. (Tip: If you're really worried about the pain... Right before you're about to get your ear pierced, pinch yourself (not too hard), so that you'll be focusing on that pain.)

Good luck!

it's worth the 30 seconds of pain lol my first cartilage piercing made my ear feel 'hot' for a couple hours, but the next day it was fine. my second one [right below the first] was a slightly larger gauge and hurt a little more because i had my brush caught in the ring a few hours after having it done.

get it done by a professional piercer, with a hollow needle. using a piercing gun can shatter the cartilage.

it hurts a little but probably not as bad as you think. if you can tolerate pain well youll be totally ok. i have my left cartilidge pierced and it was super easy. i would totally do it again...plus its only a few minutes of pain for a long time of a cute piercing.

No...there really is no pain involved..you might hear a little pop..but it won't hurt...the thing people mistaken for hurt..is that your ear might throb afterwards..but thats normal...make sure that whatever you pierce...pierce it on a side that is not being used..for example if you sleep and hold the phone on your right side..make sure to pierce your left side..so you don't irritate the piercing..and so it doesn't become infected..make sure you clean it as directed..and when you do touch it..make sure your hands are clean!!..whih means..it'll heal quicker!..g'luck

For sure it does cause pain and as far as worth it you need to ask yourself why you want the piercing? And would you want this piercing when you are 50ish years old? Also would this piercing effect your ability to get the job you really want as a career for life? Personally I think its a fade and it will pass eventually as all styles and fashions do.

Yes it hurts not badly, but its uncomfortable because when you sleep on it it hurts all night. I got mine done when I was about 13 and took it out when I was 17. I guess it was worth it, but I dont think they look good anymore, maybe its because I'm 23 now.

not really i had my nose done it i didn't hurt it will make your eyes water and sting a little plus throb when it has been done but that will last about 5 Min's at the most he most annoying part is waiting for it ti heal and looking after it for the next 6 to 8 weeks

Like the ones thru the ear inst of the lobe? Yeah, they smart a little, but they also heal very quickly - that is if you keep them clean. And being worth it is a matter of opinion. If thats what you like, then go for it.
