Anything that a child drew/painted/glued or otherwise created for me.

There is nothing more special than a child's love, and nothing more intriguing than their artwork!!!

Cliché... but Van Gogh's "A Starry Night" because it reminds me of summer nights laying out at the beach with a bunch of people, just looking at the skyline and moon, talking about nothing, living in the moment.

There is another graphic art print I love, but its not famous... a willowy girl with a long brown ponytail, golden armband, dressed in a pale, iridescent toga... is standing on a large, Roman or Grecian styled ivory balcony, which is perched on a cliff over a moonlit ocean.

She is staring out to sea, with a black cat sitting on the balcony's guardrail, where she is draped, and there is an air of expectancy and impending drama that makes you want to step into that world. It's amazing.

Course I was a D&D geek back in the day. =)

The sculpture "Winged Victory" by Samothrece ...I LOVE this sculpture more than any other work of art!! I have seen reproductions of it, but they cannot match the intricacy of all those folds on the fabric....breathtaking!!!!!! Even prints of it are hard to find; the one I found was $70!! why are there no low-priced prints of it, when you can find prints of just about anything in the world!! I'd take a print, even, if I could find one reasonably priced!! a little too long of an answer, but I got carried away!!!!!!!!!!!!

I already own lithographs of Calder's "Spring Carnival" and Miro's "Star Scene". I have a canvas print of Picasso's "Femme". They are odd little bits of masters that share my walls with works of local artists that I enjoy.

When I travel I like to visit Fine Art galleries. you never know what treasures you might find,

I have always enjoyed Claude Monet because of the way that he softened his colors and edges.
Waterlillies come to mind, only because it tends to be the one I see the most, but most of his later work is as good as his Waterlillies. I especially like the woman with the bonnet and child. (his wife as the subject, I do believe)

I also enjoy much of Raphael and the Romance period

Hmm...such a difficult descision

Probably Rembrandt's 'St Paul at his writing desk' or 'Philosopher in Meditation'

I'd reeeally love to have something by William Bougereau as well though...probably either 'Le Gouter' or 'Une Vocation' or 'Song of the Angels'

A tough choice...but I'd probably go with Rembrandt's St Paul...

I am tempted to say Michaelangelo's "Pieta." That is one of the most beautiful sculptures I have ever seen, but it would surely seem out of place in one's living room. It really ought to be in a cathedral or church.

Rembrandt's 'The Night Watch' - I have always been intrigued and fascinated by its contents.
P.S. I see there is a "real" art critic out there - giving people the thumbs down for their taste in art.
