First of all, age is definately a key factor to this question-
I've been NOT single as long as I can remember.....
In high school, I was the boy crazy one, I had a crush on a new boy every week!!! Sometimes 2!
I used to have a pin that said "so many men, so little time"-
In high school, I wasted more energy on boys,
than I did my studies,,,,
I just wanted to find my prince charming, marry my high school sweetheart, and live happily ever after-ok-i admit,
I was raised on disney movies and I really did think that I was raised in a 'Donna Reed' world,,,,,
However-my sweetheart, says that in school, he never had interest in dating, let alone ever falling in love-
He was to into being a boy-he fished, he hunted,
he helped his mom out at her business, very responsible early on, 2 grown up sisters far away-
He just never cared if it happened-
I lived for it,
I never got my fairytale, high school-dream,
But I can honestly say-I am happy ,content and comfortable,,,,,
But in the end, after all the hell I went through,
I can honestly say, that if you're young,
and you are falling in love, in love, or thinking about looking,
TAKE THINGS SLOW, dont move at warp speed,
Schooling will help pay you,,,,,schooling will get you jobs,
LOVE DON'T PAY THE BILLS BABY!!!!!!!!!
And NEVER EVER find your honey, where you make your money,,,,,,cuz if you were ever to split up-it usually can't remain professional-and will eventaully lead to the demise of one or both of your jobs, in most work places, this is looked down upon...
And one more thing,,,,,
and I am going to say this as sweetly but honestly as I can-
if you are in the age range of 12-22-
you probly won't take my advice anyhow,,,,cuz you already have your mind made up what you want to do,
you just want someone to tell you that it is ok-
and it is OK-but just make sure that you know what your goals are, before you get tangled-
and make sure that HE knows what his goals are,
and when you are getting to know each other,
similar goals, usually lead to more prosperous relationships.
I think often time ppl these days, (maybe in our day too)
Often mistake chemistry/animal attraction, as love,,,,,,
dont dive in just yet,,,,,
just ask yourself how steadfast you are,,,,
are you a good student, if so, do you wish to maintain that level of excellence,,,,,
If you get a boyfriend, you will have another obligation to fulfill, do you feel, morally, mentally, physically up to mixing the two,
is he going to understnad that you have finals to study for and not throw a fit when he wants you to cater the super bowl party...
If it feels right, then do it,,,,,
but if you have any doubts,,,,,
my mom always said,-when in doubt, don't........
I hope this answers the question-
I guess-education should have, but i didn't-
for many reasons actually-
but a boyfriends was always an option,
i like him, i hated homework and tests......
