adding hundreds of years to your lifespan while your body degenerates much more slowly allowing you to stay healthy enough to enjoy your newfound longevity, but there was a catch-after taking the drug you would only be able to see in black and white, and from then on all music would only sound like complete jibberish to you would you still take the drug, or would you pass?

No thanks, but Timothy Leary(the father of LSD) claimed that 25 years ago, that it was available. According to him, the government and churches were against distributing it. All because a lifespan that long would be hard to threaten punishment with or the learning experience due to new advancements in technology. Not to mention the overpopulation and all the resources that would be needed.
