I think the soldiers and people who serve in harm's way are still heroes. I think my fellow police officers who laid down their lives to keep others safe are heroes. I grant you that I'm no hero, I made it home every day after my tour, but those who give up their tomorrows for our todays should not be forgotten.

There are many everyday heroes.

My kid was only 7 yo when I was diagnosed with ALS & losing mobility. She was doing so many hard for her age choirs & helping me getting up from the floor after each of my many falls. In my books she is a real hero - she never showed any signs of weakness.

John Wayne was an actor - not a hero

A hero to me is somebody who's selfless. My dad is my hero. He labored complicated, became right into a loving father and husband and in no way complained even while he suffered painfully up till his dying. He in no way complained yet he became into all of us's anchor. He became into the appropriate photograph of a hero.

i think the teacher in virginia tech that stayed behind to secure the door so the students could escape was a hero. he selflessly and knowingly stayed behind and gave himself for them. in my opinion that is a true hero, i dont think i would have the guts to do that.

he may not have been a superhero or a legendary cowboy, and most of us will never remember his name, but his actions will be remembered by many

The VT professor who was killed holding the door so his students could escape was a hero. There are heroes everyday. They just don't get much publicity.

cuz people don't take responsibilty for themselves like they used to. celebs, politicians, athletes, everyone in the limelight becomes drunk with "power" and gives into weakness like drugs or public nudity or sex tapes. Their image is tarnished for good, and the hero status they may have gained it lost. instead of being strong, decent role models, they take the easy way out and binge themselves in excess. it's the sad truth of today...:(

Funny you should ask, the other day there was a question about this and I really tried to think of one person worthy of adoration, I came up a blank.
