Don't do a cover page because they will think its unprofessional. The first thing that goes on the resume is ur contact details e.g. name, address, phone no., email.
Secondly, maybe say whats ur career objective. That will interest them the most.
Thirdly, ur work skills summary in bullet point form
Fourthly, Work details (which places u worked for and what did u do in that particular position e.g. answering telephone calls, etc).
Fifthly, Educational qualifications.
Sixthly, personal qualities, then comes the hobbies/interests, and finally, ur work referees.
You will sound professional and u'll never know, u might get the job that ur lookin for, it just takes time. Good luck!

First must start off with an objective. Objective has to match the field in which you want to apply. Then it is a good idea to write in your highlights...this is normally not put in by most cvs but i have found that it is reallly effective. In your highlights put in what you have achieved...for example when you did volunatry work or awards from school etc. Your education is the next category. Subjects studied at school for the current or previous year. Then put in your volunteer work. Make sure you put the CV on some really nice paper..not just plain computer paper...it makes it stand out from others. ALso you could add in your hobbies and interests. Lastly your references...also it may be a good idea to include a cover letter just outlining who you are and why you want to work there. GOOD LUCK :) Remember...put some effort into your CV as its your first point of contact!

You may create a resume free of charge at http://www.monster.com. The software structures your resume; you just fill in the blanks. You can print out a hard copy, store your resume there, and send copies directly to prospective employers from the website.
You may also search for jobs, and make your resume searchable, to participating employers. However, I have no idea if there are any New Zealand employers that participate. Regardless, you can still benefit from this website.

Include your name, address, phone number and professional email address.
If your present address is temporary, you may also include a permanent address.
Your name should be on the first line and in a larger font than the rest of the resume.
