Yes, I've been there, and visited castles and museums. It is the largest island of the "Inner Hebrides" group of the Western Isles of Scotland (ignore the idiot who thought they were the New Hebrides), and since 1995 it has been connected to the Scottish mainland by a bridge.

Greyfriars Bobby is the Skye terrier who became famous in Edinburgh from 1858-72 for refusing to leave the site of his master's grave in Greyfriars Kirkyard. The Lord Provost paid for his dog licence, and bought him an engraved collar, to prevent him being put down as an ownerless stray dog. At least eight different authors have written books of the story, and there have been three films of it, the second by Walt Disney in 1960 and the third quite recently.
