Im sorry, but i need to ask another question regarding the addition method of system of equations..?

how would i solve this problem using the addition method?

or is it easier using substitution?

x/2+y/6= 2
x/3-y/9= -3

helppp

I would multiply the top equation by 6 and the bottom equation by 9 in order to get rid of the fractions. After that, you will have: 3x+y=12 and 2x-y=-29; add the two together and you get 5x=-17, since the y's cancel--so x will equal -17/5. Substitute this value for x back into either of the two equation and then solve for y.

Have your son start up examining the motives around the maximum recent Quantum Physics theories. the super Bang is being replaced with 2 branes brushing touch and potential/remember whooshes from the fuller one to the empty one. There are stacked overlapping branes. There are 10+a million dimensions in our universe (you and that i understand of four and are basically commencing up to comprehend a 5th). After that, conversations approximately faith and paranormal are lots greater exciting. enormously once you seek advice from the "have been given all the solutions why it is nonsense" human beings. "Magic is impossible because of the regulation of potential/remember. won't have the capacity to be destroyed basically switched over so if we cant degree a transformation in one or the different then no longer something befell." except you think approximately that the universe exchange into created by employing remember/potential from a source we can not yet degree. "If God created the universe then the place did he stand to do it?" in the different brane and poked his finger via. attempt to maintain up. "If there exchange into paranormal or god or devil wouldnt we've information?" so far we are able to coach 4 of the ten+a million dimensions. What if paranormal is the stacked brane above us. Or the measurement above us? What if God is the 10th? What if devil is the +a million (the +a million is chaos which maintains the organic stability of the different 10). we'd haven't any added information than a 2 dimensional creature (amoeba) has human beings. Yeah i understand its a stretch. yet its a exciting stretch. :)

x/2+y/6 = 2
*6: 3x + y = 12 ----- Eq(1)

x/3-y/9= -3
*9: 3x - y = -27 -------Eq(2)

By Elimination method: Eq(1) + Eq(2):
(3x + y) + (3x - y) = 12 - 27
3x + 3x + y - y = -15
6x = -15
x = -15/6 = -2.5

sub x = -2.5 into Eq(1):
3(-2.5) + y = 12
-7.5 + y = 12
y = 12 + 7.5
y = 19.5

By Substitution method:
from 3x + y = 12 ----- Eq(1):
y = 12 - 3x ---- Eq(3)

sub Eq(3) into Eq(2):
3x - (12-3x) = -27
3x - 12 + 3x = -27
6x = -27 + 12
6x = -15
x = -15/6 = -2.5

sub x = -2.5 into Eq(3):
y = 12 - 3x
y = 12 - 3(-2.5)
y = 12 + 7.5
y = 19.5
y = 19.5

So which one u prefer? Which method to use easily will depend on the question. Practise will be able to help u understand this better.

I would go with addition method... Multiply each equation by there lowest common denominator, that way it isn't messy. From there you can take out the y easily. With substitution, you get fractions and I don't really like dealing with fractions.

lol i answered that other one twice cause i thought that was it but ok, ill just repeat what i said before i edited it. you would simply have to multiply the top equation by 6 and get 3X then the bottom one by 9 and get 3X that way you can get rid of the Xs and then you just solve for y and plug it back in to get X. I'd recommend multiplying the top one by 6 to take out the denominators and then plugging in the Y value.
