If it's insult from a stranger, chalk it up to them being idiots and think nothing of it. If it's from an acquaintance, you take it until it starts to grate at you and then ask politely for them to stop.
If it doesn't work, avoid the person.
If the insult is from someone close to you, then make sure they understand they're hurting you.
Insult is fine if it's in good fun, but if it seems seriously meant and intentionally hurtful, then you need to address it. Backbone is important.

I don't understand !
Why would anybody want to insult a bear anyhow ?
I might see how much I can insult a chipmunk or maybe even a woodchuck, but not a bear.

Tons and tons by strangers . I used to do repo's for a furniture company , so insults just bounce off me.
