I have pain on one side of my vaginal wall and have for several months now. My annual exam came back normal. I am going back to the doc but I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this? it's on the right side almost like it's under the skin and deeper. it bothers me almost all the time and makes sex painful. Help. I have NO other symptoms at all!

There are many types of vaginal dysperunia (a fancy word for vaginal pain), and many causes of the different types.

When you talk to your doctor, you should suggest seeing a specialist for this - many doctors don't have a lot of experience with pain in the genital region, and may under/over or mis-diagnose it. While it is probably something insignficant, it could other be something serious, and it's important for you to get some tests to make sure. I would suggest asking for a referal.

It's possible that this could be endometriosis. One of the classic symptoms of endometriosis is pain with intercourse and it can occur on just one side of the vaginal wall or all sides. Another possible cause for this is something called vulvodynia which is pain of the external genital area but can cause pain to radiate to the inside.
