It depends on the style you are doing your paper in. For example if you were doing APA style, you could just go to www.stylewizard.com and it would do it for you. If you are doing MLA you would look at www.mla.org. Chicago style uses the footnotes (or endnotes). hope this helps

That is a Footnote citation. Used to help keep the essay uncluttered, it is a numerical reference that corresponds to the footnote given at the bottom of the page, citing the source.

Many internet sources are not credible, however the sources that THEY used might be. You may read something on Wikipedia (which most professors will fail you for citing as acredible source) which will reference, however, the source the poster found it from, which may be credible. Such as a news article or scientific organization. Find the root of the information on an uncredible source, and you may find the credibility you need.

The (32) most likely represents a footnote at the end of the paper that sites the source.

An internet source looks like this

Title of Article. Author Name. Date Updated. URl. Date Acessed

Those numbers refer to a reference (page) at the back of the book where the source or origin of the information is given. In your example it would be item #32.

Many word processing programs allow you to enter this sort of comment and will keep track of the numbers for you (inserting or deleting as necessary)

I don't know about the number but when you are citing a page you say"blah blah blah blah"(Wikipedia). The (wikipedia) is referring to the general website you found your information from.
On a wok cited page you are usually asked to provide th full length website where you found that exact information.

More often then not, the easiest way to cite sources within the body of an essay is to type in the last name of the author and the page number in parentheses. I.E: Shakespeare was a well known playwright, perhaps one of the most famous in our time. Quotes such as, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times," (Shakespeare, p.24) are among..... Such as that. That was how our english professor taught us to do it.

Oi.

go to http://www.easybib.com . I use it for all my papers, and it formats my citations into MLA format.

For future reference though, the citation looks like this:

"Human Rights Watch: Africa: Sudan." Human Rights Watch. 30 Mar. 2007. 31 Mar. 2007 .
