you need a common denominator first of all.

15 x 2 = 30
6 x 5 = 30

so 30 is your common denominator.

Multiply 1/6 by 5/5 to get 5/30 (because you had to multiply both parts of the fraction by 5 to get to the common denominator)
Multiply 2/15 by 2/2 to get 4/30
(because you had to multiply both parts of the fraction by 2 to get the common denominator)

5/30 + 4/30 = 9/30

You can simplify that down by dividing both 9 and 30 by 3 so you get

3/10

Make a common denominator. The LCM of 6 and 15 is 30.
So we get 5/30 + 4/30 = 9/30 = 3/10.

1/6 + 2/15 = multiply each by 1 so that denominators are equal
1/6*15/15 + 2/15*6/6 = find products
15/90 + 12/90 = add numerators
27/90 = simplify
3/10

1/6 + 2/15+=?
This needs an LCD (least common denominator)
In this case it is 30
So convert 1/6 = 5/30
and 2/15 = 2/30
add them and you get 7/30
