There is no solution for the question. There is no unique value of x and y which will staisfy both equations.

Correct. Double the first equation:

4x+2y=0
2(4x+2y)=2(0)
8x+4y=0

But 8x+4y=9, so 0=9. There is no solution. These are parallel line with no intersection.

You can see from looking at these that the second equation is twice the first one. But, they equal different amounts that are not twice (0 and 9)

multiply the top one by -2
so itd be -8x+2y=0
8x+4y=9
then that would cancel the x's so 6y=9 blah blah blah
