Wind is always named for the direction it is coming from. So a southwest wind is blowing towards the opposite compass direction = Northeast

Winds are named after the direction they come from. So a west wind blows from the west to the east. And a southwest wind blows from the southwest to the northeast. So, yes.

As far as wind goes, weather people always say where the wind is coming from, not going to. So, if wind is coming from the southwest it can and most likely is blowing in a northeasterly direction. So yes.

Wind direction defies expertise, in spite of the undeniable fact that it incredibly is often the path from which the wind comes. Vertical winds or wind factors are called updrafts and downdrafts, yet, to that end, updrafts bypass up and downdrafts bypass down. A WNW wind ability that in case you face a direction between West and Northwest (292° by utilising compass) you will sense the wind on your face. Edit: "in case you're actually not perplexed, you basically don't understand the situation!" - Anon.
