Even after I stopped using contacts, everynight, when I sleep, I wake up of pain when my eye ball moves due to rem sleep while eye lid is stuck to my eye ball like a glue. At least that's what it feels like. What do I do? I went to see one local opthamologist but she couldn't help. I am looking for another more competent opthalmologist but meanwhile, anybody have thoughts on this? Any opinion will be appreciated.

This sounds like recurrent corneal erosion. There are treatments available.

I don't know of any quick fixes. But, if I were you I would go to an optometrist for their opinion also. For a problem as minor as this, many ophthalmologists don't want to waste their time with it. If you live in an area similar to mine, you would find that many optometrists have a heavy flow of medical eye patients. The optometrist is very capable of treating your condition. And a good optometrist will refer you to a good ophthalmologist if they can't fix the problem or if the problem is serious.

Hope this helps a little.

Ouch! I would suggest that until you can find another doctor, go to the drug store and find some good artificial tears and put them into your eyes several times a day and just before closing your eyes for bed. Don't buy the store brand, get a name brand. If you can find an eye ointment, that would be the best to use before going to bed at night.

sounds like dry eyes. attempt using GenTeal eye ointment at bedtime evey nighttime. you will get it interior the attention drop element of your interior of reach save. verify which you do see an opthomologist no longer optomistrist for this as there's a huge difference between the two. Why no longer call and ask your optomitrist to propose a reliable opthomologist to work out.

Warm wet rag on the eye to get it to open without as much pain. Use lots of plain over the counter eye drops. Your pharmacist can help you find a good one . He/she can probably help you find a competent eye specialis alsot. But hurry. Your eyes are nothing to screw around with!!

Eye drops or artificial tears (you probably used these with contacts). I still doubt this will last all night.

Hasten your search for a competent ophthalmologist.

my cousin had a similar problem, extremely painful if i remeber correctly, he actually tore off a layer of his cornea, you need to keep you eyes's moisturised, try Visine True Tears, your eyes are too dry ; why thet are dry is something you need to figere out, if it's medical then obviously you need treatment, but if it's environmental then consider ohter options, in either case you'll need to make sure you eyes are well moisturised
