i have the right side of my lip pierced i have had it for over a year and i was wondering if i took it out how long could i leave it out without it growing up.

It really depends on your body. Probably no more than a few hours, although some people can leave them out longer. If you need to remove the piercing for any extended lenght of time, retainers can be found at your local piercing studio for about $10. They will hide the piercing while making sure it stays open.

what do you mean by growing up? do you mean closing?

i took mine out for about an hour and a half and the hole was tight already, it hurt like hell to put the thing back in. but i would think it would depend on your body..

probably not long...once, the ball of my monroe piercing came off in the night & my jewelry came out...when i got up about 3 hours later & tried to put my jewelry in, the hole had already closed up...

Take it out & leave it out, let it close up. Who would hire you or kiss you or think you're approachable? It's not a good look.

a few weeks.Lip piercings are rubbish though,they are for 15 year old kids or posh vegie types.You would be better off letting it seal itself!!!!!
