Write the story as if you are telling someone what you did or have done.

"I went to the mall" "We played basketball yesterday"

Those are examples of first person writing. If you are told to write a story in first person, simply act as if you are telling someone a story about what you did and you will be writing in first person.

They call it "First Person" because in Traditional Grammar the First Person Pronouns are I me we mine etc

it's like writing from your own prospective. "I went to the store", as opposed to "Sheila went to the store". It's easy, it's just using "I"
