My dad has a cousin my age- he and I are first cousins-once-removed... I have the same family relationship to him as your cousin's kid has to you.

If you have a sister, you are her sibling. Same with brother.
If your mother has a sister, you are her nephew/niece and she is your aunt.
If your aunt has a son, you are his cousin.
If your cousin has a son, you are first cousins once removed.
If you have a child, your child is second cousins with your cousin's son.
If your child has a child, that is your grandchild.
If your cousin's son has a child, that is your first cousin twice removed.
Your cousin's grandchild is third cousins with your grandchild.
Hope that explains clearly.

If it's your first cousin, then the child is your second cousin. Easy enough.
