It depends on whether each of the four guys has 6 apples or there is 6 apples total between them. It also matters who the one guy gave his 4 apples to. If he gave them to one of the four then the number of apples would be the same as they began with.

Well if each guy had six apples a piece and one of them gave away four, then they would have 20 apples total. =)

if they have 6 apples EACH then there is 20 apples left. If the have 6 apples total amongst them then there is 2 apples left.
