Even though this study was done with children, I still feel that it is the most valid of any study done in regards to the effect of video games.

Researches measured the anger levels of 125 kids (average age 14) and had them take personality tests. Then, they had them play Quake II, a violent video game, for 20 minutes. The test was completed with another measurement of anger level.

The results showed that 77 subjects had anger levels that were the same as or close to the anger levels they had before playing Quake. About 20 of the subjects' anger levels doubled, and 8 of them actually dropped from anger to "normal" level.

When the subjects' anger levels were compared to the personality tests, a pattern became obvious:
Those children who seemed to have a stable personality were unaffected by the game. Those with unstable personalities either were angered or calmed by the game.

No

It only happens that some of the teens that are violent happen to be playing games as well. The truth is gamin is part of the new culture for teens. A lot more play now then when i was a teen. I have played games for a while now and i did not see any difference in me other than learning about different kinds of people and different cultures.

That's like saying does coffee make people violent since a small amount of violent people happen to drink coffee...or whatever other example you want to use (i know it's weak but I'm trying to make a point so I'm going to the opposite extreme)

If a person is easily influenced or if they have violent tendencies....life itself is gonna set them off. (all the trials life trows our way)

I think only if you are that damn dumb and that influenced, because i sit up and watch violent TV and before i got robbed i played Grand theft auto 24/7 because it was fun it hasn't harmed me in anyway i go on with life, also I'm not that easily influenced it'll take an army of folks to influence me, because not every teen is like what they claim us to be in the media.

i don't go out and attempt to steal a car while someone is in it let alone shoot up an entire school.

teen violence can be influenced by a number of things
if we knew the answer to that, it would be that easy to stop it.
i think the idea of being easily influenced is the main concern here.
when you have a child and teach it to love, not to hate, and to be strong.
they wont have to find the need to look up to/or allow themselves to be influenced by anybody or anything else, be it the media or video games or whatever.

Many teenage minds are still developing till the age of 21 years old. What we see is what we manipulate. Why do you think so many people look on wrestling shows, Grand Theft Auto, Sweet Sixteen, MTV, Bet to be just like someone? Teens are also pressured by their peers and family sometimes. Teens are mostly pressured by the people they see most which is their friends.

No. Teen violence is what we are: a violent race of human beings. It's pretty clear. Just watch the news or go to a movie theater. Listen to some rap music. This is what we are. Violent.

No.

Teen violence is influenced by lack of involvement of their parents. And influenced by gangs who try to increase their numbers. By making people believe they will be in a "family" by joining.
