There is actually many debates on this exact subject. MOST women stop their cycles all together when pregnant. For various health reasons for both the women and the baby. However many women do have what they believe is their period the first couple months of their pregnancies. What it usually is is light building. Sometimes even mild cramping (it is actually quite normal for a womens body to cramp during their normal menstral period while they are pregnant without bleeding). Often this bleeding is darker then normal and is actually "leftover" blood.
In rare occasions there has been documented women who have bled through their pregnancies in what they would consider to be a normal or close to normal period.
In all four of my pregnancies I never had a cycle. But with my first two I did cramp so bad the first few months around the normal time of my cycle I was told to expect some light bleeding and not be concerned with spotting during those times.
Here are some web sites that MIGHT help you figure it out a little more...

Only 1% of women have a little bleeding every month when there pregnant.
You can't have a normal period and be pregnant.
You can have some spotting and be pregnant but not a period.

Ok some of you people must not know what you are talking about!!
Yes you can have a full period when you are pregnant, especially for your first couple months. My own experience,I was 4 months pregnant and still was getting a full period. My ob/gyn said that is normal for some people to have their period even up until their 7th month. Not everyone has that problem but it isn't uncommon for it to happen.

Yes it is possible for a woman to be pregnant and still have a period. It is rare though.
Some women will have a bloody discharge that seems and lasts like a period when pregnant.
I have included to sources.

You can have spotting or very rarely get your period when you're pregnant, but if you got your period then you're probably not pregnant.
