Yes, there are always consequences for sin. As far as those who said there is no God, "Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord." And, I agree with one of the previous answers, we are already being punished. But we can pray, as it says in 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and heal their land." Looking at some of the answers here, it shocks me how some are so blatant in their blasphemy. But, God is in control, and ultimately, prayer is one important solution.

Millions each year? Your facts are way off. Statistics from CDC for 2003 (the last reporting date) show about 850,000 abortions for 2003 and the rates have been dropping steadily since 1993 so the numbers for 2006 are probably less than that.
As far God punishing the US for abortions......we've got a lot more blood on our hands from actual, living people. From the 250,000 we killed in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, to the estimated 2.5 million we killed in Viet Nam and Cambodia, to the estimated 655,000 that have died in Iraq since US forces arrived.
And what do you think Gods punishment for all of that?

G-d is withdrawing His Blessings on the United States for our community sins.

The USA (like the Israels of old who abandoned G-d) is being overrun by hordes from many countries (Mexico, Central American countries, the Middle East, etc.).

That which made the USA great is being lost.

God is not the punisher, God is Love, it's peoples wrong choices that removes his protection on them and as a result of every wrong thing this country does there will always be consequences to suffer for.
Gods mercies are huge! even for the worst of us, GOd doesn't want to see any one suffer, that's why he sent Jesuse to suffer and die in our place to cover for our sins, He loves every one! even "John Q"

Can't imagine why you think he's got his finger on the pulse of the US and nowhere else...and if he were going to punish us for that, I think we've a LOT more to answer for than abortion!

Nah. It would be necessary for her to exist to do that. Which she doesn't, so she won't.

Not that any intelligent god would feel the need to punish anyone for that anyway.
